Breakin’ News: Aronofsky’s ‘Black Swan’ Grabs Cassel, Ryder, Barbara Hershey

Two days ago, Peter Scrietta at /Film broke news that Darren Aronofsky’s fifth film, “Black Swan” had cast Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder and Barbara Hershey. The three actors will join Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman in a twisted tale of competition for the Swan Lake ballet lead.

Before you read ballet and run, let me detail the plot a bit: Portman is to play Nina, the heir apparent of the aging Ryder’s role as the Swan Queen in Swan Lake. However, Kunis’ Lilly is also challenging for the role, but she also looks eerily similar to Nina, but is that just a coincidence or something more?

Before I tread into possible spoiler territory, I will give you this information. “Black Swan” is set to start filming in just a few weeks, and does not yet have a US distributor, though there is interest already. I will update with any news when it does eventually get picked up.
