Interestin’ News: Mad Men Creator To Make Film Debut With Aniston, Cooper, Galifianakis

10_weiner_lglVariety is reporting that Matthew Weiner, creator of the runaway critical hit (and rising ratings) “Mad Men”, will make his feature debut with “You Are Here” starring Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis.

However, there is a catch. Instead of starting on the film between the third and fourth season of “Mad Men”, they will delay until 2011. This means that the trio of stars are committed to the film, and with Weiner set to direct, who wouldn’t be? “Mad Men” is one of TV’s best shows, and has the awards and fan adoration to prove it.

Weiner had wrote the romantic comedy while working on “The Sopranos” and he seems to be ready to jump into features now. In January, when “Mad Men” was renewed for two more seasons, he made a deal with Lionsgate for a completely undeveloped film referred to as a “blind feature commitment” by Variety. “You Are Here” is not that feature, and that just shows the power Weiner wields right now.
