‘Kick-Ass’ Will Have Sequel Says Millar

“Kick-Ass”, directed by Matthew Vaughn, is scheduled to hit theaters on Apr. 16, 2010. However, Mark Millar, who wrote the graphic novels that are the sources of the movie, has already proclaimed to MTV’s Splash Page that the ending of the movie will have a teaser for Kick-Ass 2.

That’s right, Millar is proclaiming that because the film was pretty cheap to make and the positive reception the trailer has gotten so far, that there will be a sequel. Speaking of trailers, the only footage shown was during Comic-Con this year, so only bootlegs (aka taken with cell phones or small digital cameras like the Flip) exist and I just so happen to have a link.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I haven’t read the graphic novels yet, but I hear they are absolutely brutal, especially the last few issues, so it should be interesting to see how the audiences react. This is definitely not aimed at kids. Also, you may recognize Millar’s name because he also created the “Wanted” graphic novels that inspired the similarly named film that came out last year. I am excited for the film and look forward to delving into the graphic novels soon.
