According to Variety, the latest in the Star Trek franchise will find itself in IMAX yet again for a two week run starting Friday at participating theaters. Select, meaning not all. So, to help, Moviefone has an awesome feature that allows you to enter in your zip code and find a theater near you.

Some might wonder why “Star Trek” is coming back to IMAX. Previously, “Trek” had played for a two week run at IMAX but had been cut short of the normal four week run by IMAX’s commitment to “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”. Starting Friday, numerous IMAX screens will be free of commitments to the latest Potter film, so that is a good enough reason for me.

For me, “Trek” was an eye-opening experience, as I had never cared to watch any of the previous films and was awed by the interesting plot and incredible action. Helmed by J.J. Abrams, who is behind TV’s LOST,  Alias, and Fringe, the reboot proved a hit ($256 million domestic) and garnered critical praise (95% on Tomatometer) while reviving a franchise that many thought was on its last legs, film wise.
